Following the success of the first edition of the “Web Summit Qatar”, the second edition of the global event comes as a milestone in the partnership between the Government Communications Office and the Web Summit, which extends over five years, with the aim of building deeper and more influential relationships between the State of Qatar and the world of technology.

This is Egypt’s fifth participation in this global event, which is one of the most prominent technical and entrepreneurship events in the world, bringing together more than 100,000 participants, including heads of technology companies and business leaders from about 160 countries.
“Web Summit” is a unique opportunity for Egyptian companies to present the latest technological innovations and showcase their projects to a global audience. This year’s Egyptian participation comes under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with the aim of strengthening Egypt’s position as an emerging regional center in the field of technology and digital innovation. Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said that participating in “Web Summit” embodies Egypt’s vision for digital transformation, and contributes to building new partnerships and enhancing investment opportunities, stressing that this step supports Egyptian startups to increase their presence on the international scene.
A specialized jury selected 36 Egyptian companies to participate from among 98 companies that applied to participate, where 24 companies were selected to display as exhibitors and 10 companies to participate as visitors, while 3 companies got the opportunity to display at the higher level of the conference upon nomination by the “Web Summit” management. Among the most prominent of these companies is Findo Group.
