iPhone 16e:
Apple announced the iPhone 16e on February 19, 2025 as part of the iPhone 16 series.
The iPhone 16e is the entry-level model in this series, starting at $599, making it an affordable option compared to the rest of the models.
Design and display:
It comes with a design similar to the iPhone 13 in terms of size and shape, and features a durable and elegant design, with flat edges, an aluminum chassis, and a reinforced glass back. The phone comes with compact dimensions that make it easy to hold and use with one hand. The traditional mute button has also been replaced with a customizable action button, which enhances the ease of access to the user’s favorite features.
It has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, with a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels and a density of 460 pixels per inch.
The display supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision technologies, providing an immersive viewing experience with vivid colors and high contrast. The display features a brightness of up to 800 nits in normal mode and up to 1200 nits when displaying HDR content. In addition, the display is equipped with a fingerprint-resistant layer to keep it clean.
It comes with an aluminum frame and glass front and back. It measures 146.7mm in length, 71.5mm in width, and 7.8mm in thickness, and weighs 167 grams. The phone comes in two colors: black and white.
Performance and Processor:
Powered by Apple’s A18 chip, which includes a six-core CPU (two high-performance cores and four low-power cores), a four-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple says the A18’s CPU is up to 30% faster than the A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 15.
The GPU is also up to 40% faster than the A16 Bionic while improving power efficiency by 30%.
Additionally, the improved neural engine contributes to improved performance of AI and machine learning features, enhancing the user experience in applications and tasks that rely on these technologies.
Performance Notes:
Despite using the A18 chip, the GPU only has four cores, compared to five cores in the iPhone 15 and six cores in the iPhone 16 Pro. This may slightly impact graphics performance in heavy tasks like high-resolution gaming and video editing. However, the phone offers solid performance in everyday tasks and regular use.
The phone has 8GB of RAM and is available in three internal storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The phone also features the new Apple C1 modem, which is the first modem designed in-house by Apple, but it does not support mmWave 5G technology.
It offers a good balance between performance and cost, with noticeable improvements in processing speed and power efficiency thanks to the A18 chip. Despite some compromises in certain features compared to the higher versions, it is a suitable option for users looking for a modern iPhone with strong performance and a reasonable price.
Camera:
It is considered one of the latest releases from Apple, as it combines advanced performance and an appropriate price. One of its most prominent features is its advanced camera that provides a distinctive photography experience for users.
Rear camera
It features a 48MP rear camera with an ƒ/1.6 aperture that allows for capturing high-quality images even in low-light conditions.
The camera supports up to 2x optical zoom, allowing you to capture fine details from different distances.
In addition, the camera can record 4K video at up to 60fps, providing a smooth and clear video recording experience.
Front camera
The phone is equipped with a 12MP front camera with ƒ/1.9 aperture and autofocus technology, ensuring clear and detailed selfies.
The front camera also supports 4K video recording, making it ideal for high-quality video calls and content creation.
Battery and charging:
It offers up to 26 hours of video playback and 90 hours of audio playback. The phone supports Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W and charging via USB-C port.
However, it lacks support for MagSafe magnetic charging technology.
Software:
It comes with iOS 18.3.1 and supports Apple Intelligence features.
The phone features an action button that replaces the traditional mute key and can be customized to perform different tasks. The phone also supports security features such as satellite emergency calling, satellite messaging and satellite device finder with two years of free service.
Additionally, the phone has a collision detection feature, which can contact emergency services in the event of a car accident.
It also has improved water resistance, with an IP68 rating that allows submersion up to 6 metres for 30 minutes.

It includes advanced photography features such as Smart HDR 5, Deep Fusion technology, and Night mode, which enhance the quality of images in various lighting conditions.
